Doodle Quilting : Over 120 Continuous-Line Machine-Quilting Designs

I was recently sent a copy of 'Doodle Quilting' and woweee is this book fab! I was hooked from the intro as Cheryl encourages you to start by tracing over the designs in the book by placing vinyl over the pages and using dry-erase markers , before gradually moving your hand farther away from the tip of the pen and drawing with your whole arm rather than with your wrist, and then using tape to secure 2 pens together in a cross shape to get used to moving both hands together She has two grown children and two grandchildren.

She spends most of her time in her studio, where she designs and stitches quilts for books and fabric companies, plays on her longarm, and designs fabric. She loves to travel and teach quilt classes, and her students always take away inspiration and confidence for the tasks ahead. Quilting since , Cheryl loves all aspects of quilting, except the handwork, and with determination will find a way to do almost everything by machine. You can doodle anywhere without the cumbersome of a book you would have to hold open. Just bring a pen and paper. I have used napkins or the back of food receipts. I have read several other machine quilting books but this has been my favorite so far. I appreciated that the author then explained how to build a larger design by linking the doodles together. Breaking it down in step by step pieces was very helpful for me.

It was a book I read from cover to cover. I plan on using many of the designs.
